LITTLE BO-PEEP
Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep,
And she can’t tell where to find them.
Leave them alone,
and they’ll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them.
Little Bo-Peep fell
fast asleep,
And dreamed that she
heard them crying.
But when she woke up,
she found it a joke,
For they were all still fleeing.
Then she picked up her shepherd’s cane,
Very determined to find them.
She found them, yes,
but it made her heart sad,
For they’d left all their tails behind them!
It happened one day, as the girl did walk,
Into a meadow nearby.
There were all of their tails,
side-by-side,
All hung on a tree to dry.
She gave a big sigh and wiped her eye,
And over the hilltops she raced.
And tried what she could, as a shepherdess should,
To see each tail quickly replaced.
