A Safety Web for Reading to Learn
Real-Time Literacy and Language Learning Support
Learning to read, improving how well you read, improving how well you learn the English language, and improving how well you ‘read to learn’ subject-content, are all much easier with the Safety Web for Reading to Learn.
Whenever you encounter a word you don’t know, just simply touch or click it. As soon as you do, a pop-up box appears that animates you through recognizing the word and, if you want, understanding what it means. There are only a few steps you have to learn.

The Safety Web for Reading to Learn is one of a series of applications of “Interactive Orthography“, a new smart layer of orthography that is based on the research conducted by the Children of the Code Project. See “About” for more information on the Safety Web, the Magic Ladder (for teaching reading), how to use them, how to add the pop-up to your browser, and/or how to embed the pop-up component in your website. See “Main Library” to access learning to read content. The Magic Ladder, Interactive Orthography, and the Children of the Code Project are all the work of Learning Stewards.
