Lucy ran down the stairs. It sounded like a stampede. She was out of breath. She found Joe. He was watching TV.

“Joe, you’ve got to help me!”

“What’s up, little sister?”

“It’s Pete. I can’t find him.”

“What do you mean? Your pet snake got out of his cage? No way.”
